This is the second appearence of Ickworth House in this gallery, although this theme is very different to conservation! On a visit there I discovered that the Hervey family who owned the estate were very welcoming people, whether it be lavish parties or allowing local families and families of their servants and estate workers to use the parkland. In 1910, Lady Theodora Hervey renovated the basement and ensured that the servants were comfortable. In this gallery, I have aimed to show how welcoming the basement feels!
