Ickworth House - Conservation

Ickworth House is situated near Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, UK. It is a neo-classical building set in beautiful parkland. It was built between 1795 and 1829 and was the dwelling of the Hervey family. It is now under guardianship of The National Trust. I visited Ickworth shortly before it was due to close for the winter. There was a lot of information on how the conservators take care of the house and furnishings whilst the building is closed to the public. I took the opportunity to photograph the conservation aspect of this large country house, as it’s easy to forget how hard people work behind the scenes!
