Prehistory

The term 'prehistory' refers to a huge timespan in the human record, around 750,000 years in fact! The brief list below outlines the archaeological periods and dates. Please note that we are dealing with a massive timespan here, so all dates are approximate and no changes occurred overnight! One period developed into another very gradually and there are sub-divisions within each period! Most sites in this section of Archaeopath are from the Neolithic onwards.
